Pfeiffer Beach Big Sur near Monterey

Feb 12

Pfeiffer Beach Big Sur is a beautiful, well preserved beach that is popular with locals, somewhat anonymous among tourists, but well worth a visit. The beach offers beautiful offshore views holding rocks, sea stacks and some nice surfing waves. The specialty of this beach is curious purple sand, from manganese garnet particles rinsing down the hillside creeks. As you go further north on the beach, the sand seems to get extra purple. The West side grips some beautiful and spectacular sunset photographs and covered with offshore rocks.
